
Gold futures hit the psychological mark of $1,500 an ounce on Tuesday, shaking off early weakness as the dollar sunk further. Gold for June delivery GCM11 +0.24% wavered between small gains and losses earlier, but recently added $6.40, or 0.5%, to trade at $1,499.30 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
